Men who have more than 4 drinks a day, and women who have 3 or more drinks a day, are at risk for alcohol problems.

I am a clinical psychologist and today I will be answering the question “What is At-Risk Drinking?” for About.com.Although individual responses to alcohol can vary a great deal, the American Medical Association states that men who drink more than 4 standard drinks a day, or more than 14 per week – and women who drink 3 or more drinks in one day or more than 7 per week are at an increased risk for alcohol problems.
