Hello, my name is Dr. Ingrid Mathieu.  I am a clinical psychologist and today I will be answering the question “What is At-Risk Drinking?” for About.com.Although individual responses to alcohol can vary a great deal, the American Medical Association states that men who drink more than 4 standard drinks a day, or more than 14 per week – and women who drink 3 or more drinks in one day or more than 7 per week are at an increased risk for alcohol problems. Of course, drinking at lower levels can also be problematic depending on other risk factors. This is Dr. Ingrid Mathieu and we’ve been discussing at-risk drinking for About.com. Thanks for watching.
