You can mark their progress by trying them on their map once every three days until they have everything filled in correctly. Here's a map with just the name of countries and no capitals. Sometimes students need a little help in the beginning finding those countries before assigning the capitals to each country. And you can also use this as a coloring page - keep in mind that worksheets can have dual and even triple purposes when you're teaching your students. Here's a worksheet where you can match the capitals to their country, and their are plenty of sites where you can download quizzes and free printable worksheets. Here's one for Ecuador with a picture of the country's flag. You can use it as a coloring page and have the student color it in with specific colors. You can also have them write the country's capital, just below the word Ecuador. Remember - every worksheet could have a dual purpose.
