Hey I’m Khalid and today with About.com we are going to discuss Newton’s Second Law of Motion.In 1687, Sir Isaac Newton published “The Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy” in which he defined the physics of motion.  From this there were three laws that became cornerstones of classical physics.Newton’s second law of motion states, “The alteration of motion is ever proportional to the motive force impress'd; and is made in the direction of the right line in which that force is impress'd.”  In other words, “Exerting the same force on two objects of different masses will result in different accelerations due to the unequal masses”, or mathematically F=ma, force equals mass times acceleration.Look at it like this, if I flick this smaller ball with the same force as I flick this tennis ball, we see that the two balls accelerate at different rates due to their mass differences. Thanks for watching.  For more information, check out About.com
