Rebecca Murray from About.com Hollywood Movies at the World Premiere of Walt Disney Pictures' Prom.Tell me, because you're the veteran of this young cast, what was it like being surrounded by people who hadn't acted before?Aimee Teegarden: "I was so used to being the baby and looking up to some amazing, amazing actors - like on Friday Night Lights and that kind of thing - and then all of a sudden it was roles reversed. We just did a read through before we even shot anything and all of a sudden it was like 10 cast members were coming up to me, 'Should I learn my lines? Do I bring my own wardrobe? What do I do?' And it was like, 'Wooh.' So that was a little bit different, but it was so much fun. It was so enjoyable working with such a fun, young cast that hasn't experienced or been jaded by the business. And just like, I don't know, seeing those moments on set for them for the first time, and just those butterflies. Just like those once in a lifetime moments that you can never recapture, and it kind of just makes me remember what I was like back then when I started in the business."It makes you sound so old now.Aimee Teegarden: "I feel a bit old sometimes, but it was so much fun. The cast is phenomenal."Everyone kept telling me that you guys had game nights. What's up with that?Aimee Teegarden: "We did, because we had a cast that's like anywhere from 30 to, I think, 13 so it was kind of one of those events that was acceptable for all age groups. We did some Janga, we did some Youtube video night thing. We'd always end up ordering pizza or Chinese food and way over-stuffing."No karaoke?Aimee Teegarden: "No, thank lordy baby Jesus. No karaoke, no karaoke. There's some very, very talented members of our cast that can sing, and then some very untalented members like myself who can not sing."What's the moral to Prom?Aimee Teegarden: "I would say the biggest moral to Prom is don't judge a book by its cover. My character goes through the whole movie thinking that...she's a preconceived notion of this guy, Jesse Richter, who's supposed to be the bad boy. She's known him growing up and she thinks he's just being a jerk because, and then throughout the whole movie she kind of peels back the layers and realizes that there's a lot of heart behind him."Thomas McDonell: "Well, we're not all the same ages is the truth. The youngest was like 13 playing 13 and the oldest was almost 30 playing a teenager so we're pretty spread out, actually."Being on a set with people who hadn't acted before, what was that like?Thomas McDonell: "It was fun. That's like not all together that many of us, but it was the first time for a lot of us having major roles in a major film. A lot of us had been acting for a while."Why do you think teens are going to like Prom?Thomas McDonell: "I think that the characters are relatable and the story, to a certain extent, is relatable to most people. But the story is not as important as the characters and the relationships that they have, so I think it's more about that."So tell me about your character. How does he develop throughout the film?Thomas McDonell: "You first meet him and he appears to be the trouble-making bad boy, this is Jesse Richter who I play. And you meet him first in the principal's office, and he's in there because he's been cutting class. You start to learn more about him throughout the film as he becomes more involved with Aimee Teegarden's character, Nova Prescott. They become involved romantically, and then it turns out that he's the good guy."Playing the young Johnny Depp in Dark Shadows, have you been studying the old TV series?Thomas McDonell: "Yeah, I've watched some of it. I hadn't seen any of it before getting the job. I'm trying to learn rapidly."Do you think it's going to keep the same tone? Do you know what they're going for?Thomas McDonell: "I think there will be much that will be the same and much that will be different about it."More on Prom:
