Question
What should be used for legs and arms?
提交
Hi, I'm Shaddai Berron, and today I'm going to walk you through how to draw a full body portrait.
Drawing Supplies

For this project you will need:
Paper
Pencils
A Model
And an eraser
Make Your Model Comfortable

Before you start, make sure your model sits in a comfortable natural position. Your model will be holding his or her pose for a long period of time and should be comfortable and relaxed. Give your model adequate time to move around and get settled. The more relaxed and natural the pose, the more realistic your drawing will turn out
Draw Basic Shapes

Once your model gets settled it’s time to start drawing. To start out, study your subject, squint your eyes and try to locate the basic shapes that make up your subject. Then, draw those basic shapes to represent different body parts. Circles can be used for the head, body and hands. Rectangles for the legs and arms. It’s all up to you. These are just guides to get you started.
Draw an Outline

After that, start to outline your drawing lightly with your pencil. This is where your drawing starts shaping up and looking more realistic. The arms go from long rectangle like shapes to long slender arms. The circular head becomes more oval in shape and we start to see the face’s features form.

Take your time and let the models details guide your drawing. Is there light hitting your models hair? Add that! Is there a shadow casting on your models neck? Draw that too!
Shade the Drawing

Use different grades of pencils for different results and add shading to turn your one-dimensional drawing into a work of art!
