Tips for Storing Golf Clubs
Golf clubs should be stored where the temperature is
I'm PGA Professional Todd Kolb for About.com. We're going to talk about how to store your golf clubs. When the time of year comes where the golf season is wrapping up and we need to store our golf clubs, there are a couple key points I want you to be aware of. The first thing is it's very important that you clean the golf clubs. Now, what do I mean by that. You want to make sure and take the heads themselves and make sure that they're nice and clean and get any of the dirt out of there and make sure that they're nice and dried off. You don't want to store any golf clubs if they happen to be wet or stuff like that. You want your club heads to be nice and dry and also clean. I would also make sure that you clean your golf grips, take some soap and some water and clean them off so that they're nice and ready to go for the next season and then go ahead and certainly store them away. Now, when it comes to the bag and things like that, when you have your golf bag, you're going to want to make sure to put the cover on your golf bag so you don't get any dirt or dust or any of those types of things in there. Cover it up with the rain cover that probably came with it. And, most importantly I would always store my golf clubs in some environment where the temperature is controlled. I don't want to store my golf clubs in an outside garage area where it's going to get below zero, or certainly on the opposite side of it, I wouldn't want to store them where it's going to be super hot. Try to keep them in an area where the temperature is somewhat controlled and you'll find that come next season when it's time to bring them out, they'll be ready to go.
