How to Get In the Mood When You're Stressed

Everybody has different amounts of stress in their daily life from a variety of things. One of the biggest stress relievers can be sex. However, it can be tough to get in the mood since you are so stressed. Here are few tips on how to get in the mood when you are stressed.

Healthy Habits Alleviate Stress

First, maintain a healthy diet. A balanced diet of veggies and proteins can reduce your stress level in general. In addition to your diet, try to exercise at least three times a week. It will increase your energy, and your physical appearance, which is always a plus.

Organize Your Schedule to Prevent Stress

Second, try to organize your schedule. Free up some time for you and your partner. Say no to some activities so you have more time to enjoy each other. It is helpful to make a calendar of events so you don’t get overwhelmed. In the same token, if you need additional help around the house or yard, hire someone to do it for you. Not having to do daily chores will free up some time and alleviate stress.

Third, always get enough sleep. Not getting enough sleep can increase your stress level, and make you feel much worse. A power nap in the afternoon could help as well.

Include Stress Relieving Activities with Your Partner

Fourth, laugh. As cliché as it sounds, laughter is the best medicine. It is an excellent stress reliever, and it can get you in a better mood quickly. Put on a funny movie or TV show, and enjoy some laughs with your partner. It is a surefire way to lighten any mood.

Fifth, add stress-relieving activities to your daily life. Meditation and yoga can reduce your stress level. Both are easy activities, and will only take up a small portion of your day.

Set the Mood and Start Slow

Sixth, set the mood yourself. Use relaxing music, and romantic lighting. Maybe even surprise your partner with it when they come home. Use flowers and candles to make a nice environment for your lover to come home to.

Seventh, start slow. You can’t just jump right into it. If you are both stressed, you need to ease into it. Trading massages is a good way to loosen up, and relieve all that pent up tension you may have. Remember to be patient; it may take some time to get in the mood.
