Hi I'm author, speaker and trainer JJ Flizanes of JJFlizanes.com, and I'm here to speak to you today on behalf of About.com about active stretching for your quadriceps.

Knee Flexion Is Active Stretching for Quads

Your quadriceps, when contracted, cause knee extension and hip flexion. So in order to actively stretch them, we're going to do knee flexion and hip extension. My favorite exercise to do this is called the bridge. We're going to start off on your back, with your knees bent and your feet hip width apart. Then you're going to concentrate on contracting your hamstrings and lifting your butt in the air. This is going to cause a stretch for the quadriceps.

Tips for Doing Active Stretching for Quads
