Danielle Panabaker – 'Jenna' in Friday the 13th

Tell me what it's like to be on the set of a Friday the 13th movie because it must just be freaky overall.
Danielle Panabaker: "Absolutely. It was terrifying to shoot this movie. We were shooting at night in Austin, Texas in the woods. You have no idea what else is out there. It's so dark at night and you're already sort of off-kilter because you're shooting in the middle of the night. And if you take five steps the wrong way you could disturb a snake or who knows what else is living in the woods."

So Jason isn't necessarily the scariest thing in those woods.

Danielle Panabaker: "Because Derek Mears is such a wonderful man, I would say no."

Why do you think it is that Jason is still around after all these years and all these films – and we still want to see him?

Danielle Panabaker: "I still want to see him. I think it's the man behind the mask because you don't really know what's going on, but he's so vindictive and so brutal with all of his killings that he's fascinating. You want to know what's going on but you never will."

Why is this the perfect date movie because it's coming out right before Valentine's Day?

Danielle Panabaker: "This is the perfect date movie because you can take your date and it's a great excuse to snuggle up and…get a little closer than maybe you normally would. Perfect date movie."

Willa Ford – 'Chelsea' in Friday the 13th

Is it easy to bond on a horror movie set?
Willa Ford: "You know, I don't know about any other horror movie set but I have to tell you this cast is amazing. People say it all the time but I promise you, go down the line and ask anybody what they say… These are some of your friends that you've developed that you'll have in the business forever. We talk on the phone. We have parties. There's talks that we might start partying tonight and take it all the way till the movie comes out. Yeah, we think we're going to do that."

Were you a huge Friday the 13th fan?

Willa Ford: "I was a Friday the 13th fan, but I'm scared to death of horror films. I'm very lightweight when it comes to that. I am a wimp, and horror fans probably don't want to hear that from me but I'm going to be honest. I enjoyed making this film so much. I'm terrified and I'm going in there and I'm going to not bury my head into my husband's chest."

So what was it like the first time you saw Derek [Mears] wearing that mask?

Willa Ford: "I freaked. I freaked out. No, like honest to God, we all knew Derek. We're like, 'How can we possibly be scared?' And they surprised me. I was in the water and I was doing my scene and I turned around and there he was, and I screamed. It was a natural scream and then the director is screaming, 'Line! Line!' I couldn't get my line out. And I was like, 'I forgot it!' Just staring at him, I was in awe. He's just a statuesque man in the first place, and then you add everything to him and the special effects. Breathtaking. It was amazing."

Why do you think we're still so infatuated with him after all these years?

Willa Ford: "You know, it's the man behind the mask. It's like Phantom. I just think that there's something terribly intriguing about it, and that we always are searching to know his story. I think you get a little more of it in this film where they've had tons of sequels but nothing has had Jason and Friday the 13th , and you're going to really learn a lot about Jason and maybe where he's coming from in this film."
