Zachary Quinto Interview - Sylar on 'Heroes'
音量

Did you die at the end of the season?

Zachary Quinto: "I did die, yeah."

But you're coming back?

Zachary Quinto: "Yes."

What are they going to do to you? They've gone so far.

Zachary Quinto: "I don't know. I swear I don't know anything. We get our scripts this week so I'll have a better idea. But everything is very tightly under wraps so…"

Do you ever see him turning, becoming a good guy, or do you think he's going to keep that bad guy arc the whole time?

Zachary Quinto: "I think he's probably going to enter into a world where the landscape is radically different. I think that, you know, he's going to have to – I don't know – readjust his position on some things. But that's just my feeling. I don't know how accurate it is."

Did you expect this to blow up the way it did?

Zachary Quinto: "You can never expect it. And I mean, I knew the show…when I got the job, the show had already premiered. So I knew that the show was going to be huge, but there's no way to tell what kind of response people are going to generate for your work. That's been really surprising in a great way."

Is it cool to be the bad guy on the show?

Zachary Quinto: "Yeah, it's like the joy. Totally."

Do you think it's a meatier role than they developed for anyone else, or do you think they're all pretty much the same?

Zachary Quinto: "I mean I can't really… I don't think that any more attention was given to this role than any other role. But I just think that, you know, people respond to things differently, and so there's camps of people who get really impassioned about one storyline, and camps of people who get really impassioned about another one. I think the interesting thing about this character is that he sort of interacts with everybody. You know what I mean? That he's not limited to his own circle. I think that's something that gives it a broad appeal for people. But I mean, I think all the characters are really well explored and really well developed by both the writers and the actors."

Did you come from a world of growing up and reading comic books and getting into superheroes?

Zachary Quinto: "No, not really. I came from a world of theatre. It's heightened in the same way, but no, I wasn't really a big comic book/superhero/sci-fi kind of guy. Superman, Star Wars, I'm down with."

How difficult are the effects on this set? Do you guys go through hell like it looks like you do?

Zachary Quinto: "It's tedious sometimes, but the nature of everybody that works on the show is such that we enjoy each other's company. So even if it has to be for 16 hours, we end the day smiling – just like we started it. That's sort of the good thing."
How many years do you think it's going to go on?

Zachary Quinto: "As long as people want to watch it."
