How to Use Google AdSense for a Home Business
Often people want a Gmail account that is _____________ their business.
Hi, I'm Matt Gavenda for About.com and today we're going to talk about how to use Google AdSense for your home business.Google AdSense is a way that Google shares ad revenue with it's users. Many people use this on all their websites. Whether it's a blog or video or any site that somebody can set up they can set up Google AdSense on their site. If you're starting a home business you want to use Google AdSense to monetize your website.Google will handle the picking of the advertisers. And the longer you have it on the site, the more money it can make and the more focused that advertising can be for the clients you have coming to your site. There are people out there that say that making money by Google AdSense is easy. That's not necessarily the case. You have to have good placement of ads on your websites. Google only allows 3 ads per page so you have to pick wisely. So you're hoping that the right placement will bring in the right amount of views and clicks. One way that Google keeps track of this is through click through ratios. CTR for short. And what that is is say you have a thousand views, if you have 35% click through ratio. That 35% means that you're going to get paid more per click than if you're only getting a 10% click through ratio. Now to set this up for yourself and your own business, you have to have a gmail account and usually that's an easy thing to do. But often people want to find a gmail account that is relatable to their business. You're going to want to put your business name @gmail.com. And once you have that set up. You go to Google AdSense and if you put that into a search you usually can pull that up pretty easily.Once you're on the Google AdSense page, you have to apply for an account. This means you have to have a site that has information and has stuff set up on it before they'll approve you. Google will review your site and they're looking to see if it's content rich. Whether or not it has the information being added to it regularly to benefit the viewer. Google has become a lot more strict when it comes to this review process. If you're looking to monetize your website, Google AdSense is a great resource to have. For more information visit us online at About.com.
