Today, I am going to be talking to you about how to be a good person. Now, that's quite subjective because it really depends on how you define what a good person is, so I am going to try to give you a few guidelines to try and help you get a little clearer focus on what that is for you. The first thing, that I think really underpins all of that is treat others as you want to be treated - really walk your talk, have that integrity and you know, don't do or behave in a way to other people that you wouldn't like to be happening to yourself. The second part is that also, to be really curious and ask other people what is it that they want, what is important to them, so you understand what they want from your relationship, whether it be personal or professional. The second bit is really about committing to your own personal growth and development. In order to be a good person, you need to understand who you are and commit to constantly working on yourself, growing yourself, learning more, not just about skills and abilities, but also about who you are as a person, your communication, anything that's going to help grow you as a human being in whatever context you are looking to make a difference. That's really the next bit, making difference in the world, being of service. If you really want to be a good person, then part of that is about making a contribution, a positive contribution to people around you. You can do that on a small scale, or on a big scale, but it really is about how to put a bit of your stamp on the world and making a positive difference and positive contribution. The last thing I want to share with you today is really about being true to yourself. We all heard the talk, particularly the people who have a service mentality and want to help others, to put others before yourself. It actually doesn't work. You can't give more than you've got. You know, a rechargeable battery cannot put out more power than it has been charged up with, so it's really important to look after and note yourself, to be true to yourself and your own heart as well, so that you are constantly making sure that you're filling yourself up and from that place, you can go out into the world with other people and really make a difference, and make that positive contribution. So, start with yourself, then look outwards, keep your attention on other people as well as yourself, it's learning these two things together, go out there, make a difference, be good.
