Hi, I'm Laura Campbell from Babyladies and I'm going to be giving you some tips on how to comfort your newborn and how to achieve the birth that you want. If you are preparing food for your baby at home, try not to get too caught up in the sterilization worries and follow sensible precautions. Sterilize your work surface, you can use these Melton wipes which you can be sure your surface is sterile. Wash your hands and when preparing the baby food, you can literally use what you use. So, I got one of these blenders that I use. This is great because you can take it apart and make sure all of the bits are clean. You can boil it up if you think you need to. But, some soap and water, some just normal fairly liquid and some warm water you are going to get it really clean. The reason that we really sterilize bottles is because there can be little bits of milk that are left over that can cause baby to be ill. It's not quite so important with food. So you can use what you use. And if you have a dishwasher then you will use so. So, I'm going to just show you how I would do it. This has been through my dishwasher. And I'm going to get a banana. I have nice clean washed hands. I have my unripe banana to use. I'm just going to pop it in there. And it is as simple as that. That is now pureed for baby. Another really good thing you can do is from any super market, you can buy pre-frozen vegetables, you can buy spinach, you can buy pretty much anything under the sun now, butternut squash. And it is already prepared for you and all you would do is defrost it overnight in the fridge or defrost it in your microwave, although it would lose some of its nutrients. And then you would literally blend it and it is that easy to make baby food. .
