Hi, my name is Sunita Passi and I'm from a company called Tri-Dosha. We're specialists in training in Ayurvedic therapy and also meditation, and we supply products and treatments to some luxury spas around the world. There are many ways to meditate and I'm here today to talk to you about a few of the different meditation techniques that you can bring into your life in order to feel happier and healthier. Yoga is an ancient form of exercise originating in India. Some say 4000 years ago, some say 5000, some say 6000. Anyhow, we do know it was an awful long time ago and Yoga actually means union so it's union of the mind, body, and soul. Yoga is a form of exercise whereby specific ‘asanas' which are postures are used to move energy within the body. There are many different types of yoga. Some are very slow and relaxing, some are a lot more disciplined, meaning that you have to get into specific positions, and some yoga is a lot more dynamic. The end result however, is the same. It is to move with energy called ‘prana' which they say if you have it circulating around the body with no blockages, it is the path to freedom and to personal health, happiness, and freedom. Yoga meditation is something that can generally be experienced at the end of a yoga class. If you've had a great yoga class, you've completed a number of asanas or postures during that class and your body is in a really relaxed state at the end, you will actually go into quite a deep meditation, and this meditation is known as yoga meditation. So the yoga has actually allowed your body to relax. It's allowed your mind to have clarity. It's allowed all of the thoughts in your busy head to disappear. It's allowed your body to loosen up and you should really feel the flow of prana running through. This is the time that you can say you're in a yoga meditation. I hope you've enjoyed hearing me speak about yoga meditation and I look forward to telling you about other meditation techniques. Thank you. .
