We're here at Count Me In Tutoring in Bedford Corners, N.Y.Making the decision to go to college can be stressful, but if you follow some simple tips making your list of choices can be easy. An initial list should consist of 15 to 20 schools that fit your criteria.Every student is different, but here are the biggest factors:There are a few factors that may be important to one student, but wouldn't be a factor for others, such as:You will want to be realistic about which schools will be a good fit for you and the level of academics you can handle. Your list should always include a safety school. A safety school is a college you and your guidance counselor are very confident you will be accepted to and fits your criteria.It's important to stay positive, so you will want to include colleges that are reaches, as well. A reach school is one that your grades and test scores are right on the cusp, but they are one of the best schools in your chosen area. The Internet is a great resource to find average test scores and grades of accepted applicants at each of your schools. Your final list should consist of 5 to 8 colleges.
