Questions to Ask During College Interviews
You can also ask about really popular majors. You can
Hi I'm Emily Simmons for About.com and I want to talk about questions to ask during a college interview. There are a lot of questions you can ask during a college interview, but I think the best way to approach it is to go in with a lot of knowledge and a lot of research so you know what questions to ask. I think a great first question is "what is going on on campus?" This shows you are engaged and that you are interested in whats going on.Other great questions to ask if you're being interviewed by an alum or current student is "what was your favorite part about campus life?" this will give you an idea of what you might also be able to look forward to on campus. You can also ask about popular majors, different extracurricular activities, just getting a sense of the academic and student life on campus. There are definitely a few questions you shouldn't ask, the first being "what are my chances of getting in." It takes away from the whole holistic college review process that goes into an admissions decision so it's really hard for a college admissions counselor, alum or even current student to tell you your chances of getting in.There are a few tips students can use when talking about themselves during a college interview. I think you want to start with confidence and know your resume thoroughly, so you can highlight your personality outside of classroom. Have experience in terms of classes and knowing what you want to major in. Another thing to discuss is what you are looking forward to when you arrive at campus. Also, talk about what you are currently looking forward to in the coming weeks at your school to show what your priorities are outside of your application. Those are questions you should ask during a college interview.
