Hi, I'm Stephanie Gallagher for About.com, and today, I'll share with you some tips for kinesthetic learners.Each of us has a preferred learning style, either by hearing, seeing or experiencing things. Kinesthetic learners learn best by doing or experiencing things. They tend to be good with their hands and enjoy active learning.Research shows that people perform better on tests if they adapt their study habits to suit their learning style. For kinesthetic learners, that might involve group discussions or even just studying with others in a group. Book clubs, for example, are well-suited to kinesthetic learners.Kinesthetic learners also enjoy learning activities that they can get physically involved in, such as play-acting or performing science projects. Really, any type of activity that involves doing something first-hand is good for kinesthetic learners. Note-taking is not the best study tool, though. And when they do have to sit at a desk to read or take notes, it's best for kinesthetic learners to study in short blocks and take frequent breaks. Flash cards are a wonderful tool for kinesthetic learners, because they turn the act of memorizing into a memory game. And with flash cards, you can use them by yourself or with a partner.
